How to Install ACSS

The entire Automatic.css system is easily installed and configured with the Automatic.css plugin.

  1. Download the plugin to your computer
  2. Login to your Wordpress dashboard
  3. Navigate to Plugins > Add New
  4. Click the “Upload” button at the top
  5. Click the “Choose File” button
  6. Select the plugin file on your computer
  7. Click the button to activate the plugin

Once the plugin is installed and activated you’ll see a new Automatic.css area in the left admin sidebar in your Wordpress dashboard. Put in your license key (not the bundle key, the actual license key for the automatic.css plugin) and you’re ready to start using Automatic.css.

Important

While there are a ton of adjustable settings in Automatic and the plugin dashboard may feel overwhelming to some … the framework requires practically no setup to function properly.

The plugin automatically enqueues the stylesheets and installs the full suite of utility classes in Oxygen. Once you’ve setup the “Viewport” tab and the “Colors” tab, and cleared out default styling from Oxygen’s global settings, you’re ready to go!

All other settings tabs in the dashboard involve aspects of the system that you may want to either customize or override, but they are not required to start using the framework.

Customizations and overrides are a unique feature of Automatic.css. They allow you to tailor the system and styling to a specific look and feel while retaining its responsive and consistent nature.

The plugin dashboard in the Wordpress admin is the central location for setting these customizations and overrides. Accessing or editing the stylesheets is not required.
